Ok.... So now that I read the others,, I need to keep up.... I live in Ruther Glen Va. (near kings dominion park)
I am a photographer by trade, mostly dog shows, but have done horse events, weddings and a few model shoots.
my background is definately in the show dog world though. I used to professionaly show dogs before picking up the camera. It has been a long time since I had my last aquarium, but have jumped back in with both "feet wet" so to speak.. presently have a dozen aquariums, mostly killies, with a few lake tanganika cichlids, and a passion for catfish.... the dwarf varieties appeal to me most, but want to try some of the smaller plecos too.... Also like the "planted" aquarium, ...
anyhow... As mentioned, I love the idea of this forum and hope in this computer age we live in , that it fits into most of our members itineraries, for communicating.

Hi David,
Im also an orchid addict as well. However, I let go my plants long ago. The addiction is still there. I think the killis have taken over.
BTW, my mother and father in law live in Ruther Glen, so one day when I am visiting them, I hope to also visit and look at your killi and orchid collection.

Have a great Christmas!
Jim

Interesting how these hobbies sometimes go together. I'm a relative newbie at orchids, but have definitely caught the bug, especially for Paphiopedilums and Phals.

I don't have hobbies, I have obsessions...

Interesting that you are into phals, and slippers...but,,, they both have some similar growing conditions..
I used to breed a lot of phals, but have gotten away from it, although you wouldn't know it by the numbers around here.. (too many plants, not enough space)
I have a pretty extensive collection of paphs and phrags... one might say I am more than obsessed...
Make sure to introduce yourself to me at one of the upcoming meetings... Maybe I can share some plants with you..
good growing...
